Blacksmith's workshop - behind the curtains

At the Iron Art Łódź artistic metalworking workshop, we create wrought iron interior railings, exterior railings, decorative metalwork items, as well as wrought iron furniture.

We make every effort to ensure that our wrought iron stair railings, staircase railings and decorative metalwork elements are crafted professionally, with attention to detail and in line with your expectations.

We would like to show you our work behind the scenes by presenting the process of creating wrought iron railings, decorative metalwork and other products that are our speciality.

Artistic Metalwork

Blacksmithing is a craft that has been known for centuries. In the past, blacksmiths enjoyed far greater popularity, as their work was often considered highly valuable and people readily used their services. Today, the profession of blacksmith is no longer as common or as appreciated, largely due to technological development. Wrought iron railings and other artistic metalwork products can now be mass produced using machinery.

Today, a blacksmith, also known as a decorative metalworker, who runs a small independent business must face major challenges and earn the interest of customers. The best way to do this is through products made by hand, which are undoubtedly more effective, original and unique.

Decorative metalworkers most often specialise in creating wrought iron furniture or wrought iron railings, both exterior and interior. Artistic metalwork products that have not been made with modern machines doing virtually all the work are undoubtedly creations worth appreciating. Creating a wrought iron railing that perfectly reflects the original concept and design sketch requires skill, patience and precision.

Wrought iron railings, art from an artistic metalworking workshop

A blacksmith who makes wrought iron railings by hand can create a one of a kind product that can also be personalised to meet the customer’s individual wishes.

An unquestionable advantage of working with smaller metalworking workshops is that every ordered element will be unique and crafted with greater precision. Wrought iron railings or furniture mass produced by large companies are created with the aim of manufacturing the greatest possible quantity.

Thanks to blacksmiths who still specialise in handcrafting railings in their artistic workshops, customers have access to original and exceptional products, often created especially to order. It is therefore worth exploring the offer of decorative metalworkers who can create a unique, hand decorated and precisely finished wrought iron railing, rather than buying a product imported directly from China. This way, the craft will remain alive.

We warmly invite you to explore our range of wrought iron railings created at our artistic metalworking workshop in Łódź.
